Saudisation continues apace at Aramco with the requirement that contractors working on company projects must include Saudi workers in the workforce.

This requirement will be advanced in regular increments over coming years, and to ensure that contractors can meet the stepped-up requirements for qualified Saudi workers, the company has established a special training center in Abqaiq to train and equip contractor employees with the necessary job skills. At year’s  end some 180 contractor employees were enrolled in contractor-employee training programs.
First among those trained in the new center were contractor employees involved in drilling and work over operations. Additional training is planned for contractor employees engaged in gas operations, industrial relations and other company business lines.
