Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) plan to sign an agreement on strategic cooperation in Beijing in mid-October, a Russian source close to the negotiations told Interfax.

The agreement was initialed by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and CNPC President Chen Geng in Moscow on September 25. “The signing of this agreement will lay a solid foundation for expanding cooperation between Gazprom and CNPC." the source said
