SolArc names key Asia Pacific official
HOUSTON: SolArc, a leading provider of enterprise supply, trading and risk management solutions for the global energy industry, said it had hired Brian Chan as vice-president of sales in Asia Pacific.

Chan has an in-depth understanding of business-to-business applications and services in cross platform integration software and enterprise applications in the Asia Pacific region. 
He has served in executive sales positions at Ariba, Aspentech, Oracle, and PeopleSoft where he developed operational plans to expand revenue and managed strategic alliances.
At SolArc, Chan will be responsible for strategy and revenue generation of key customer accounts.  Prior to joining SolArc, he worked at Ariba as country manager, and vice-president of sales and strategic alliances at Aspentech.
 “Brian brings with him a wealth of expertise and knowledge about energy companies in Asia Pacific.  We are very pleased that Brian will expand our presence in this growing region of the world,” said SolArc CEO Brad Anderson.
He received his professional diploma in marketing and international business from Lingnan University.  He is currently working on his Master of Science in International Marketing at Hong Kong University SPACE/University of Strathclyde.

New TNK-BP posting
MOSCOW: Anglo-Russian oil firm TNK-BP will get a new chief operating officer from BP later this year, the firm said in a statement.
TNK-BP said current COO Larry McVay would retire in the second quarter of the year, to be replaced by Tim Summers, a BP executive with experience in Colombia, the Caspian and the North Sea. TNK-BP, a joint venture between BP and Russian private investors, is Russia's second biggest oil producer.
