Davies joins BMT board
BMT Ltd said Ian Davies had joined the board of directors as a non-executive director, replacing Brian Smouha who retired recently.
Ian Davies is a chartered accountant and experienced director and Audit Committee chairman of public sector bodies, public and private companies.
A member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ian is also a Visiting Fellow of the Department of Strategy at the Cranfield School of Management. His role at BMT will include chairing BMT’s Audit Sub-Committee.
Ian has over 14 years’ experience in major international practice in both the UK and Middle East.
He has been a director of Chara since 1994 and a director of The Independent Director Ltd since 1993. He is a non-executive director of, among others, Dawson Holdings and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

BMT is an international design, engineering and risk management consultancy, working principally in the defence, energy, marine technical services and transport sectors.
Banking on energy
MORGAN Stanley named HSBC Securities power and energy banker Anthony Ianno to bulk up its business of financing North American energy companies and utilities, according to an internal memo.
Ianno, 42, will join the firm as a managing director and head of Morgan Stanley’s expanding North American power and energy financing and risk management business.
He was previously co-head of Americas energy and utilities investment banking at HSBC Securities USA, a unit of HSBC Holdings, and a managing director in natural resources investment banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
