CMP Products opens office in Australia
CMP Products has announced that it is expanding into Australia and opening an office in Perth, providing another significant regional location in a world-wide network of strategically-positioned offices.
The Newcastle-based company, which manufactures cable gland and cable connectors for industrial, marine and hazardous area installations, adds the Australian base to its operations in Dubai, Houston, Shanghai and Singapore.
It has also recently opened an office in Pusan, South Korea
CMP Products launches its Australian office at a time when there is significant activity in the continent’s oil and gas industry and this is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. The company’s expansion follows an exploratory visit to Perth earlier in 2007 with NOF Energy, the business development organisation for the oil, gas and related energy sectors. The visit included exhibiting at AustralAsian Oil and Gas (AOG).
David O’Brien, general manager Australia, said: “By establishing a base in Perth, Western Australia, CMP Products now has the ideal network of offices to target all the major oil and gas markets.
Joanne Leng, director, international business, for NOF Energy, added: “For CMP Products, it is vital to have a local presence to participate in the bigger projects in the region. The company took a proactive approach to the market visit earlier this year, with a clear vision of what they wished to achieve and NOF Energy was able to ensure both presence at the exhibition and a number of meetings with high-level regional contacts.”
