TUV Middle East (member of TUV Nord Group), a leader in inspection, certification, training and consulting, has undertaken third-party inspections at a number of prestigious projects in the region.
The company has been recently accredited by the Dubai Accreditation Centre (DAC) for lifting equipments. DAC is the only accreditation body in the Gulf region which is a recognised member in the International Accreditation Forum.
“This is an important milestone in the continuing growth and success of our industrial services department.
“The accreditation shows our commitment to providing the highest levels of quality inspection to our customers, and the same high level of conduct in our business practices.
“Accreditation by the DAC is proof of this commitment, and signifies that we have met the rigorous standards of an internationally recognised local body,” says Merza Shishani, general manager of TUV’s industrial services department.
“We are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation, and intend to consistently uphold the principles of quality improvement and inspections in the future,” he says.
TUV Middle East started its activities in Abu Dhabi in 1984 with the inspection of power plants and water desalination plants and then after expanded its activities with wider scope to Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Syria.
Among the important projects where TUV successfully conducted third-party inspections were the Dubai Mall, Air Cooled heat exchangers at GEA Batignolles Technologies Thermiques in Doha, Qatar for Chiyoda Corporation, the 34-storey Adnec Capital Gate Inspection Project and the Arcapita Bank headquarters, Manama, Bahrain.
In Abu Dhabi, TUV Middle East was contracted by Borouge for quality surveillance services for the Borouge 2 project. The scope involves quality surveillance services for source procurements spanning over 30 countries and site inspection services during installation and commissioning.
TUV Middle East has successfully completed the project and utilised the services of over 250 engineers/inspectors for this project for services such as expert design verification, quality surveillance services, site inspection and auditing services, he says.
“Under inspection services, we provide inspection, surveillance, examination, testing, appraisal, consultancy and training in technical fields,” he explains.
