SAUDI Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) has launched its new office in Cape Town, South Africa, in the presence of Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al Saud, chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Sabic chairman.

“This new facility will not only strengthen Sabic’s existing business relationships in South Africa, but will also improve the company’s sales performance in neighbouring countries. Sabic’s latest office reflects the company’s belief that a customer-centric focus is the optimum formula for business success and greater market share.”

“We are not new to this market,” Prince Saud says adding, “and have serviced customers here for over a decade. We are confident that, based on our reputation as well as on the first-class infrastructure and banking institutions in South Africa, we will see increasing use of our products by local businesses.”

Al Mady says the new facility will bring the supplier and customer closer together and demonstrate Sabic´s faith in the future growth prospects for South Africa and the entire Sub-Saharan region.

“This is another important stride we have taken towards achieving Sabic´s vision of being the preferred world leader in chemicals,” Al Mady says. “Moreover, this new office will be the perfect complement to our storage and distribution centre, which already exists in Durban, South Africa.

The Cape Town office launch is a logical step forward for Sabic and ideally positions us to take the sales of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers to a whole new level in the region.”
