SIL2, or Safety Integrity Level 2, is the International Electrotechnical Commission’s standard for certifying the level of risk reduction provided by a safety function. Moving beyond certifying only components, SIL2 provides assurance as to how these components will work together in integrated systems. Administered by Lloyd’s, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and other third party organisations, SIL2 is becoming the industry standard.
The company is responding to customer requirements and embracing the practice of safety integrity certification by manufacturing a range of products that provide this high level of assurance to customers – including SIL2-certified flame and gas detectors, release valves and actuators for use in POG facilities – as well as fully integrated systems, engineered and approved to SIL2 standards.
