Expro tops market in well flow sector

Expro ... leading in well flow technologies

Expro, a leader in well-flow management, has created and captured the well flow technology market. Its key technologies, core and more specialised services, assist its customers to measure, improve, control and process flow from their wells.

The company operates in all the major hydrocarbon producing areas of the world, employing more than 4,500 people in 50 countries. With its head office in the UK, Expro has regional headquarters in Aberdeen, Cape Town, Dubai, Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Rio.

“Expro’s expertise extends across the lifecycle of a well, reinforcing our ability to assist our customers to achieve their goals – from exploration and appraisal through to abandonment,” says a company spokesman.

Expro has been a leading provider of well testing services and completion flowbacks – both onshore and offshore – for more than 30 years, with significant strengths in subsea wells and high flow rate gas wells.

“Our subsea landing strings and safety systems, and versatile surface test packages, combined with expert onsite fluid analysis capabilities, ensure Expro provides our customers with the complete package to support their well clean-ups and exploration well tests,” he says.

Expro has operational bases across the world and has developed an unparalleled track record for delivering tailor-made solutions to meet the challenges faced by its customers. Every well test is different and Expro can assist with the planning and execution of the job to meet the specific needs of its customers.

“We are an established provider of drill stem testing (DST) services to the oil and gas industry. We have vast operational experience with more than 400 DST jobs successfully completed.

“Our core DST tools have a track record that has been proven over the past 20 years and the addition of our new DST tools means that we provide the accurate data our customers need to plan the optimal exploitation of their reservoirs,” he says.

Expro’s CaTS system transmits data to surface in real time using electromagnetic (EM) signals. Having access to surface read-out data provides confidence in the data quality and quantity, leading to early decision making and optimisation of the testing programme duration.

Its enhanced measurement service extends the operating envelope for existing test separators, using supplementary measurements to better understand and manage the process real-time during test operations, he explains.

The use of Expro meters sonar surveillance at the well site on the well test separator is designed to improve test separator efficiency, make well site operations more efficient and provide enhanced data for better well test reporting. Expro meters offer its customers wellhead surveillance on demand, utilising its clamp-on sonar-based metering technology. This provides quick and easy well testing services.

“We also offer round-the-clock, 24/7 well surveillance, no matter what the well type or location. Our clamp-on meters are non-intrusive, easily installed and applied without production shutdown, providing customers with a permanent solution to their wellhead production surveillance needs,” he says.

Expro’s metering technology makes flow surveillance easy, cost-effective and available on demand, enabling its customers to have better visibility to optimise production and enhance recovery. Expro is the market leader in providing a complete solution for all customers’ well integrity needs using a combination of calipers, logging tools and downhole video cameras. All of these services can be deployed on electric line or slickline to ensure the customer is offered the maximum versatility.

Expro’s range of downhole video camera systems offer operators a cost-effective way to ‘see’ downhole problems rather than inferring them or just plain guessing. Downhole video is a proven technology and over 5,000 downhole video surveys have been run in a wide range of oil and gas well conditions. Expro has been providing production systems since 1983, and is recognised as one of the global leaders for the provision of fast-track and cost-effective production facilities, delivered on a lease, operate and maintain basis for either short-term or long-term projects.
