Sabic may get new presidents
AL KHOBAR: Petrochemicals giant Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic) has recommended the appointment of new presidents at three of its affiliates, including one subsidiary which experienced a deadly fire last month, industry sources said.
No reasoning was given by the sources for the changes at the companies, which are all located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia’s biggest industrial city on its eastern coast.

Glasspoint on track on PDO project
MUSCAT: Glasspoint Solar, a leader in solar enhanced oil recovery (EOR), is on track to produce steam at the Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)’s Amal oilfield in southern Oman before the end of 2017, said a senior company official.
The construction of the project is ahead of its schedule, Rod MacGregor president and CEO of Glasspoint Solar, was quoted as saying in the Times of Oman report.

Libya’s crude output rises
LONDON: Libya’s crude production has risen above 300,000 barrels per day (bpd) after the reopening of the Marsa Al Hariga export terminal in the east of the country, a spokesman for the Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC) said.
The spokesman added that production could soon reach 350,000-360,000 bpd.
Dewa tenders for 3D-printed labs
DUBAI: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has invited expression of interest (EOI) for the construction of 3D-printed laboratories at its ambitious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, UAE.
The new labs will be used for conducting research on drones and 3D-printing technologies at the solar park which will generate 1,000 megawatts (MW) by 2020 and 5,000 MW by 2030, said the state news agency Wam.
DME holds first Fujairah oil trade
DUBAI: The first trade in Middle East fuel oil derivatives has taken place on the DME (Dubai Mercantile Exchange).
DME recently listed Middle East 180cst and 380cst high-sulphur fuel oil (HSFO) for trading.
The listing allows traders to directly hedge fuel oil delivered in the Gulf region.
