EcoSpace provides insights to reduce emissions and accelerate decisions

Hitachi Energy has launched EcoSpace, a digital sustainability platform that measures and visualises the environmental footprint of power grid projects.

Part of the company’s HMAX Energy portfolio, it uses AI driven analytics to turn complex lifecycle data covering materials, logistics, installation, and operations into real time, decision ready insights.

Utilities, grid developers, and investors can use dashboards to compare scenarios, evaluate carbon impacts of design choices, and identify emission reduction opportunities.

EcoSpace supports transparent sustainability reporting, helping stakeholders meet growing regulatory and tender requirements across the energy sector.

Its methodology is independently validated by DNV, ensuring credibility and consistency.

Already tested in real projects, including Statnett’s 420 kilovolt (kV) substation in Oslo, the platform has demonstrated up to a 20 per cent reduction in lifecycle carbon emissions over 30 years.

EcoSpace also helps organisations comply with evolving regulations, improve financing prospects, and build stakeholder trust.

Backed by Hitachi Energy’s Power Consulting expertise, it enables more informed, sustainable decisions across the grid lifecycle.
