GE Vernova’s Kuwait Technology Center has affirmed its commitment to technological innovation and fostering knowledge transfer to drive forward the ambitious goals of Kuwait’s Vision 2035.
Established in 2015, the 6,000-sq-m facility was conceived to support the energy transition through specialised training, engineering and tooling capabilities.
Managed and operated by Kuwaiti professionals, it was GE Vernova’s first technology centre of its kind outside the US.
Late last year, the centre marked its milestone 10-year anniversary.
Over the past decade, the centre has trained more than 1,500 engineers from Kuwait and around the world, equipping professionals with specialist expertise for the power generation industry.
The institute’s Engineering Centre provides advanced technology services tailored to Kuwait’s energy sector and is the only GE Vernova facility globally with advanced controls simulation capabilities that can accurately replicate complex turbine control events. It also houses Kuwait’s only gas turbine materials laboratory.

The Tooling Centre supports regional and global demand by supplying equipment used to service gas and steam turbines and generators, helping localise critical maintenance services.
Dr Subaih Abdulaziz Abdul Muhsen Al Mukhaizeem, Kuwait’s Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, says: “Kuwait’s long-term development priorities, envisioned under the Kuwait National Development Plan, rely on a deep integration of academia, research, and industry to transform the nation into a diversified, sustainable, and knowledge-driven economy.”
Beyond its technical operations, the centre supports education and workforce development through university partnerships, internship programmes, student site visits and engineering competitions designed to encourage greater interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
