Background

The purpose of the MGS Expansion is to meet increased demand in the Central and Western regions by providing 12.5 BSCFD of Gas by 2020 through the installation of new pipelines and booster gas compression stations. Saudi Aramco’s Master Gas System Expansion (MGSE) is aimed at expanding gas supply for power generation and industrial use in the kingdom. Package 2 entails the construction of 226 kilometers of 46-inch pipeline on the East-West Qassim Gas Pipeline 1.


Project Status

December 2018: Up to this point, only 25 km of lowering of pipelines are remaining with stations and facilities following closely behind.

The scope includes the construction of 226 km of 46" pipeline on the East-West Qassim Gas pipeline 1.


Project Finance

Saudi Aramco is the client for this project, investing about $1.5 billion in MGSE Phase 2.

Arkad signs a $54 million facility agreement with Apicorp to fund its ongoing works in package 2 of Aramco’s Master Gas System Expansion (MGSE).
