The Spectrum Real Time Coiled Tubing Services is a suite designed to deliver more accurate, more complete downhole measurements, and exceptional reliability – leading to a higher return on investment for completion and intervention operations
Halliburton, one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry, has introduced to the Middle East region a number of technologies, which would increase drilling efficiency.
Ahmed Kenawi, senior vice president of the Mena region for Halliburton, says among them, Cerebro is a new technology that obtains performance data directly from the drill bit and analyses it to optimise cutter engagement, reduce uncertainty and increase drilling efficiency. This new service improves data measurement and overall drilling performance.
Cerebro provides an unprecedented view into an entire run by continuously capturing downhole vibration and motion data, he says. This information helps operators pinpoint where bit damage occurred and when optimal performance is not achieved due to inconsistent design or operating parameters. The system identifies several common drill bit factors including lateral and axial vibration, torsional resistance, whirl and stick-slip which can negatively impact drilling speed and reliability.
The next, ICruise, an Intelligent Rotary Steerable System, is a breakthrough technology that delivers faster drilling, accurate steering and longer laterals.
Today operators need to efficiently and reliably drill longer laterals faster which requires a drilling system that can steer accurately through high-angle wellbores in one run and achieve target depth on time and on budget. The iCruise system provides the highest mechanical specifications available with 400 RPM and up to 18 degrees/100 feet dogleg capabilities to drill fast and with greater accuracy, explains Kenawi.
The iCruise modular design can be configured to drill a long lateral or to increase accuracy in formations where well trajectory changes rapidly. Steerability and cutting efficiency can be further improved by matching the new Halliburton GeoTech (GTi) drill bit with the iCruise system.
The Prodigi AB Service is a first-of-its-kind offering that introduces automation to hydraulic fracturing. By automating the breakdown process of a fracturing treatment, Prodigi AB Service helps deliver better well performance. The service uses algorithmic controls and is supported by a Halliburton completion advisor who will tune the system to optimise the performance.
Kenawi says Prodigi AB service helps improve overall efficiency, maximise the performance of perforation clusters and mitigate the risk of screen-out. Prodigi AB Service provides consistent design execution, better distribution of fluid across the perforated interval, and improved treatment pressures and rates. The service delivers improved precision to achieve a lower cost per BOE.
The Spectrum Real Time Coiled Tubing Services is a suite designed to deliver more accurate, more complete downhole measurements, and exceptional reliability—leading to a higher return on investment for completion and intervention operations.
Spectrum Real-Time Coiled Tubing Services comprises two complementary offerings: Spectrum Diagnostic Services and Spectrum Intervention Services. These services integrate Halliburton’s coiled tubing with down-hole measurement tools, fibre optic sensing and telemetry, to deliver complete, accurate real-time data. Operators are better able to minimise uncertainty, assess reservoir performance, and monitor wellbore conditions, helping them significantly improve well intervention operations and production.
