Background
The project is part of the Upper Zakum full field development program carried out by Adnoc Offshore. Development of Upper Zakum Field Project is to increase production output in the UAE giant offshore Upper Zakum oilfield from 550,000 bpd to 750,000 bpd as part of UAE’s oil production capacity plan.
Project Status
February 2019: DSME has completed the construction of the artificial islands. The project is now entering the final stages as warranty checks are being carried out and will be handed over by the end of Q4 2019.
Project Scope
Onshore package scope as follows:
• Gas compression and injection systems
• Water injection systems (treating, pumping, metering, and distribution facilities)
• separation systems (gas-oil-water separation, gas and oil dehydration, desanding, desalting, and sweetening facilities; test facilities; produced-water handling and treating facilities; etc.)
• Gathering systems (flowlines, testlines, manifolds, metering, etc.)
Project Finance
Petrofac Emirates joined forces with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd (DSME) for the project. Petrofac Emirates’ share of the contract is valued at $2.9 billion.
Zakum Development Company (Zadco) is the project client. Zadco merged with Adma Opco and the company is now referred to as Adnoc Offshore.
