The 2023 Middle East Technology (ME-Tech) forum will address key industry trending topics, including implementing the best adapted downstream refining and petrochemical routes, improving energy efficiency of existing assets, the latest new innovative solutions on lowering emissions to reach ESG goals.

The thirteenth edition of the key event, being organised by Euro Petroleum Consultants (EPC), will take place on May 16 to 18 at The Address Dubai Marina Hotel, Dubai, UAE.

A number of important discussions will help shape the agenda for ME-Tech 2023 including the further development of opportunities arising from the region’s competitive advantage market tightness and the impact of the ban on Russian crude and products, project financing and investing in projects, sharing project risks, addressing energy security and the future of oil and gas, and changing the perception of the industry.

Richard Charlesworth, Executive Director, S&P Global Commodity Insights, will provide an outlook of the region's latest developments and downstream opportunities in his session 'Outlook for Refining and Petrochemicals: Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place'. He will discuss the global refining and petrochemical trends, financial performance, and decarbonisation targets.

Also, attends will have the chance to hear from Totalenergies on Satorp’s expansion project ‘Amiral’ along with feature presentations from leading technology licensors and solution providers on topics such as refining and petrochemical integration, energy efficiency improvements, lowering carbon intensity, catalysts innovations, projects executions, and more.

The keynote panel discussion, Looking ahead to 2030 and beyond, will focus on the multi-billion dollar petrochemical push in the Middle East region. The panel will include representatives from Aramco, Satorp, Honeywell UOP and Wood. The panel will be moderated by Süleyman Ozmen, Managing Director, 3P18 Independent Consultants.

The second panel, Preparing the downstream industry of Mena countries for the tightened export-import requirements, will focus on the current specifications for liquid fuels and how to adapt to them. It will include representatives from Adnoc Refining, Axens, Sulzer and TCG and will be moderated by Valentin Kotlomin, Consulting Manager, ARGUS Media.

ME-Tech 2023 will also play host pre-conference seminars hosted by two downstream key players and technology providers, on the May 16, ‘Stronger Together: How Collaborations Are a Game-Changer for the Downstream Industry’ hosted by Wood and ‘Transforming the Future of Refining and Petrochemicals’ hosted by Honeywell UOP.
