Congo is rapidly expanding its oil and gas sector, positioning itself as a key energy hub in Central Africa.
Congo LNG, Phase 2, began operations in December 2025, six months ahead of schedule, increasing LNG capacity to 3 mtpa, with first exports expected in early 2026.
Natural gas is central to the country’s strategy, supported by projects like Bango Kayo, which will produce LNG, LPG, butane, and propane.
In oil, Congo aims for 500,000 bpd, with TotalEnergies, Trident Energy, Perenco, and Wing Wah driving exploration and production.
New regulatory frameworks, including a Gas Master Plan and Gas Code, enhance clarity and attract foreign investment.
