Fire safety innovation takes centre stage at Intersec Saudi Arabia 2026

The Fire Protection & Technology Summit, a key feature of Intersec Saudi Arabia 2026, will bring together leading engineers, policymakers and technology specialists to explore the innovations, international standards and practical solutions shaping the Kingdom’s next generation of life safety.

Taking place from November 16–18 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Centre (RFECC), the CPD-certified Summit will run during the first two days of the exhibition.

It will feature expert-led discussions and real-world case studies addressing critical industry topics, including AI-powered fire detection, digital life safety systems, industrial hazard protection, fire resilience, workforce development and the future of fire engineering.

The programme will also welcome back the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), which will lead a dedicated second day under the theme Innovating Fire & Life Safety: Bridging Global Standards with Local Vision.

The collaboration will examine how global standards, professional development and knowledge sharing can enhance fire resilience while supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.

The conference will combine strategic insights with practical experiences from organisations managing some of Saudi Arabia’s most complex operational environments.

Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani, Fire Chief at Saudi Railway Company (SAR), will share approaches to managing major incidents at critical infrastructure, focusing on the crucial first hour of emergency response.

Meanwhile, Faris Alzahrani, Health, Safety & Security Consultant at the Ministry of Education, and Yousif Mohamed, Fire Prevention Officer at King Fahd International Airport (KFIA), will explore how artificial intelligence can support fire safety decisions while preserving human oversight.

Other confirmed speakers include David Bartlett, Chief Fire Officer – Head of Airport Fire & Rescue Service at Heathrow Airport; Phil Garrigan, Chair of the National Fire Chiefs Council; Asim Almohammadi, Fire Chief at National Petrochemical Industrial Company; and Fahad Aljabr, Vice President – Projects Delivery at KAFD.
