Burckhardt Compression has completed the acquisition of Italian gas compression specialist Fornovo Gas, following its announcement on May 13, 2026. 

Founded in 1969, Fornovo Gas is a leading European provider of gas compression solutions for biogas and compressed natural gas (CNG) applications, with expertise in mid-sized reciprocating compressors. 

The company employs around 120 people and generates double-digit million Swiss franc annual sales. 

The acquisition strengthens Burckhardt Compression’s position in the expanding biogas and CNG markets by adding complementary products, technical expertise and established customer relationships. 

The deal is expected to enhance the company’s capabilities and support further growth in sustainable gas compression solutions across Europe and other key markets.
