Bahrain’s Bapco Energies and its venture arm BeVentures are evaluating Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to support rising electricity demand from energy-intensive industries and AI infrastructure. 

Led by BeVentures, the assessment is part of Bahrain’s long-term energy strategy and net-zero 2060 ambitions. 

The proposed nuclear facility could supply clean power to major industrial sites, including Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and Bapco Refining. 

BeVentures is working with global consultants on feasibility studies and exploring potential private financing and equity partnerships.
