Iraq and Syria have signed an agreement to rehabilitate the Haditha–Baniyas crude oil pipeline, a major cross-border energy project expected to be implemented by Chevron.
The project aims to restore a key export route and strengthen regional energy connectivity.
The US Embassy in Baghdad welcomed the agreement, describing it as a historic step towards enhancing regional security, stability and economic prosperity.
The embassy added that US companies will play a key role in delivering the pipeline’s reconstruction and rehabilitation.
