Byrne Equipment Rental, which has been a proud part of the industrial and economic growth in Saudi Arabia, continues its growth journey with imminent depot openings planned, the first of which is in Thuraif
The well-known "Byrne" brand has long been regarded as one that is synonymous with quality and diversity in the plant and equipment rental sector, with fleets operating across the region.
Byrne Investments Saudi Arabia, as it’s known in the kingdom, is without question one the most innovative players in its field. Since its inception here in 2001 it has enjoyed a strong relationship with Sabic. "On the back of that relationship Byrne is privileged and honoured to be the official rental sponsor of the Sabic Technical conference -12," says Satish Shetty, deputy general manager - Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia.
Saudi-owned Byrne has grown rapidly over the years and today it enjoys, what’s best described as, a preferred equipment rental supplier position in the kingdom’s oil and gas sector. This is particularly so during plant maintenance and shutdown periods when the ability and understanding of the supplier to meet the exacting equipment requirements of the industry becomes imperative, he says. Part of that understanding has driven Byrne’s latest fleet expansion with the launch of Blast Resistant Modules (BRMs) (certified blast rating up to 8psi 10psi with a duration of up to 200 MS).These buildings are specifically designed for hazardous operating environments like refineries and petrochemical plants, where they will safely and comfortably accommodate shutdown and maintenance personnel working temporarily on site.
The BRMs are manufactured to the highest international standards through Byrne’s Saudi-based sister entity, Byrne Technical Services and its associated entities in the GCC. Its innovative designs are already getting attention from many major industry players including Sabic, PetroRabigh, Sadara and Saudi Chevron. Byrne’s high specification BRMs have been deployed for the last two years at Sadara, the recently commissioned ultra-large petrochemical complex in Jubail-II, as well as the nearby S-Chem facilities for Saudi Chevron Petrochemical complexes in Jubail-I.
Meanwhile, as the wider market moves towards a preference for temporary equipment rental solutions rather than relying heavily on more traditional but expensive ownership business models, Byrne continues to work with its broad client base to explore how its products and services can be extended to meet diverse demand, he says.
"Byrne does this through its kingdom-wide network of six fully equipped depots strategically located across the Eastern, Western and Central Provinces, where the company provides a highly regarded 24/7 response to customer needs, backed up by a 400-strong team of people," says Shetty.
As one would expect from a company of this calibre, quality is a key component of Byrne’s operating philosophy but always with an eye on delivering financially viable solutions to its clients. "All equipment meets Sabic and Aramco standards and is third-party inspected. The company’s mechanical and diesel powered equipment are manufactured by global brands and maintained to the highest standards by Byrne’s own highly trained technicians, using only OEM parts and consumables which ensures that end users know that Byrne products arrive robust, durable and reliable," he says.
Byrne brings a unique combination of flexibility, innovation and cost effectiveness that will continue to benefit the petrochemical industry, which today faces constant pressure to rationalise costs and drive efficiency. With a track record for quality and service delivery with Sabic, its contractors and the wider petrochemical industry, Byrne continues to set standards in the equipment rental industry in Saudi Arabia.
"Petrochemical companies clearly recognise the importance of equipment rental in their operations and this has allowed Byrne to diversify its fleets and grow its business over the years. In the same way we recognise that only by being innovative in our product offering, flexible in our approach and convenient in our presence across the kingdom can we expect to continue to appeal to our clients and the industries we serve," says Shetty.
"We are proud that today in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the region, large industry players have started specifying Byrne-branded specialised equipment such as skid mounted boilers (total capacity of more than 40 tonnes per hour), oil-free compressors, desiccant dryers, lighting towers, power and cooling units," he says
Over the last 15 years Byrne Equipment Rental has been a proud part of the industrial and economic growth that Saudi Arabia has enjoyed and with strong confidence in the future of the kingdom, it continues its growth journey with imminent depot openings planned, the first of which is in Thuraif to serve customers in the upcoming industrial town of Wadi Al Shamil and more to follow. As Byrne prepares to enter 2017 it remains determined to continue its market leading position which it summarises as "enabling operational efficiency through equipment rental and lease solutions", he adds.
