Michael Dunn

SNC-Lavalin, a global fully-integrated professional services and project management company, has appointed Michael Dunn as the new senior vice-president, resources for Middle East and Africa (MEA) and Asia Pacific regions.

Based in the UAE, Dunn joins the company’s resources senior leadership team, leading the business’s oil and gas, and mining and metallurgy activities in these regions.

Lauding the appointment, president (resources) Craig Muir said: "As we continue to grow our Resources business in the MEA and Asia Pacific regions, the appointment of Dunn will further strengthen our capabilities and market offering by delivering world-class end-to-end engineering and consultancy, project delivery and asset management services."

"Bringing a wealth of experience and regional industry knowledge, I’m confident that he’ll continue to cement our footprint and lead our business expansion for the future," he stated.

Dunn had joined SNC-Lavalin in May as managing director, resources, Arabian Gulf Countries, ensuring its development strategies and operational capabilities are aligned with the new strategic focus of SNC-Lavalin’s resources sector, said a statement from the company.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in operations and management, building businesses and delivering projects in the oil and gas, and mining and metallurgy markets in the UK, Middle East and Australia.

His extensive 10 years’ GCC experience will also play a key role in repositioning the company’s service offering, leveraging its existing capabilities and delivering on its growth plans in the region, it stated.
