Shell Lubricants and FAW TRUCKS have tested a jointly developed battery pack using Shell’s electrically insulating immersion cooling fluid on the Shell Starship 3.0 Hybrid concept truck. 

Initial validation indicates up to 98 per cent higher maximum gradability, 0.8 per cent improved energy efficiency and potentially 32 per cent longer battery life. 

The technology is designed for future hybrid commercial vehicles, with final performance data pending completion of validation.
