Shell Global Solutions, Fraunhofer IKTS and AVL are launching a four-year programme to develop a next-generation power-to-liquids process for synthetic aviation fuel using solid oxide co-electrolysis.
The pilot project at Shell’s Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam will integrate SOEC, membrane separation, Fischer–Tropsch synthesis and off-gas utilisation.
Supported by the Dutch government, the programme aims to improve e-SAF efficiency and affordability, with commercial deployment targeted for the following decade.
