The Rotoflow and SKF S2M teams at the agreement signing

SKF will support Rotoflow’s Solutions Centre in Dhahran with proprietary servicing and diagnostics equipment, including control cabinets, critical spare parts and specialist tools for its magnetic bearing technology

Rotoflow, an Air Products business, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SKF S2M to expand the services available to turbomachinery customers through Rotoflow’s Dhahran Solutions Center (DSC) in Saudi Arabia.

According to the agreement, SKF will provide Rotoflow’s DSC with proprietary servicing and diagnostics equipment, including control cabinets, critical spare parts and specialist tools for its magnetic bearing technology.

The addition of these diagnostic capabilities with SKF magnetic bearings will help Rotoflow further support regional customers to help keep their plants operating with industry-leading reliability.

"This partnership leverages the combination of Rotoflow’s time-tested turbomachinery in concert with S2M magnetic bearing technology to broaden our service offerings and provide added value to our many customers," says Phil Schuepbach, Rotoflow Manager of Business Development.

The Rotoflow DSC, which opened in February 2021, is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic, testing, balancing, and machining equipment to diagnose sources of performance deviations, and provide technology-driven solutions that improve and optimise rotating equipment process impact and reliability.

The facility also houses materials characterisation Technology Labs to support materials testing and failure analysis.

Through this partnership the DSC is now the only rotating equipment original equipment manufacturing facility to provide in-house magnetic bearing services in the Middle East region.

"We are delighted to partner with Rotoflow to support their solutions centre in Dhahran and provide our expertise in magnetic bearing technology to customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia specifically and the Middle East regionally. This collaboration will allow us to combine our strengths, resources and knowledge to deliver innovative solutions that enhance reliability and optimise performance," says Mohamed Daoudi, SKF S2M Sales Director.

In addition, the DSC provides state-of-the-art technology solutions for turboexpanders, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, cryogenic pumps, small steam turbines, gearboxes, fans and blowers.

The centre provides technology solutions for all brands of expanders – not just Rotoflow equipment. Rotoflow’s turbomachinery capabilities provide world class offerings to the gasification, air separation, helium, hydrocarbon, petrochemical and energy market segments.

SKF is a world-leading provider of innovative solutions, which help industries become more competitive and sustainable. Its offering around the rotating shaft includes bearings, seals, lubrication management, condition monitoring, and services.

Founded in 1907, SKF is represented in more than 130 countries and has around 17,000 distributor locations worldwide. It recorded annual sales of SEK 96,933 million ($3.522 billion) in 2022 and employed 42,641 people.
