Axens has launched a 100 per cent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) unit in Asia, capable of converting renewable feedstock into high-value SAF.

The unit, a revamp of existing hydro processing assets, uses a simple two-stages scheme and an innovative catalyst solution, including the Axens 700 series.

This allows for full flexibility to produce 100 per cent renewable diesel (RD) or 100 per cent SAF. The Vegan process prevents co-production of renewable diesel and focuses on maximising SAF without additional hydrocracking stages.
