Perpetual Next USA plans to develop three additional biomass-to-biomethanol production facilities in the US Southeast, each processing about 1 million tonnes of sustainably sourced biomass annually, with development starting in 2026.
Growing global demand for biomethanol, driven by policies like Europe’s FuelEU programme and voluntary industry carbon-reduction initiatives, is expected to surge by 2050, challenging the industry to scale production rapidly.
To address this, Perpetual Next is deploying its proprietary Biomethanol Blueprint across multiple sites in Europe and the US The blueprint integrates torrefaction, gasification, and methanol synthesis, enabling fast, serial scale-up to commercial-scale biomethanol production for global markets.
