The UAE is rapidly expanding its solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity from 6.7 GW in 2025 to 32.3 GW by 2035, a CAGR of over 17 per cent, according to GlobalData.
Solar generation is projected to rise from 15.8 TWh to 75.4 TWh, supported by mega-projects like Al Dhafra, Noor Abu Dhabi, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
Under the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, $54 billion will be invested in clean energy, aiming for 50 per cent of electricity from renewables and a 70 per cent carbon reduction by 2050.
Gas and nuclear will remain key for baseload and system stability, ensuring reliable, low-carbon power.
