CRC Evans has opened its expanded Burnley Centre of Excellence, doubling the size of its UK operation and creating one of the world’s largest end-to-end coating facilities.
The 90,000 sq ft Pioneer House facility represents a major investment in the company’s global growth and diversification strategy.
It brings advanced manufacturing, engineering, specialty welding, protective coating and digital capabilities together under one roof, increasing capacity to support complex projects across energy and critical infrastructure markets.
The Burnley centre will serve customers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australasia and Latin America, complementing CRC Evans’ North American operations in Houston.
The company is expanding beyond its established pipeline infrastructure business into sectors including renewables, nuclear, defence, aerospace, utilities and other industrial markets.
Designed for highly regulated industries, the facility features contamination-controlled workflows, segregated operations, enhanced quality assurance and strengthened cybersecurity processes.
Its expanded coating capabilities include epoxy and polyurethane systems, high-temperature finishes, thermal metal spraying, advanced polymer coatings and intumescent fire protection.
CRC Evans said the investment also supports regional skills development through its apprenticeship programme, aimed at developing the next generation of engineering talent.
