Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group and Axens have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) projects, combining their expertise to accelerate industrial decarbonisation.
Samsung C&T, a
global EPC contractor with broad experience in energy infrastructure such as
power plants and LNG terminals, is expanding into the carbon capture and
storage sector.
Axens contributes
advanced CCUS technologies, including its proprietary DMX amine-based
post-combustion carbon capture process, CO₂ purification solutions, and
downstream applications such as sustainable aviation fuel production.
The partnership aims
to deliver efficient, cost-effective carbon reduction solutions by integrating
Samsung C&T’s global project execution capabilities with Axens’ end-to-end
CCUS portfolio.
Axens’ technologies
span the full carbon value chain, from capture to conditioning and utilisation,
supporting hard-to-abate sectors including power generation, LNG, cement,
steel, and refining.
The collaboration
seeks to deploy scalable solutions that lower emissions and advance the
circular carbon economy.
"This
collaboration with Axens reflects Samsung C&T's commitment to expanding our
footprint in the low-carbon energy sector and leveraging cutting-edge
technologies to address climate change”, said Jaehyoung Kim, ES Sales Team Vice
President of Samsung C&T Corporation.
Partnering with
Samsung C&T allows Axens to bring our advanced DMX™ amine-based capture
technology and integrated CCUS solutions to a broader global market,
accelerating the deployment of impactful climate solutions. By combining our
expertise in carbon capture with Samsung C&T's, we aim,to deliver reliable
and efficient CCUS solutions for industrial applications,” stated Rachid
