KBR has been selected by Pampa Energía to provide its Purifier technology for a new ammonia-urea complex in Bahía Blanca, Argentina.

Under the agreement, KBR will supply technology licensing, basic engineering design and proprietary equipment for the 3,430 tonnes-per-day ammonia plant, scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2029.

The facility will feature the largest single-train ammonia plant in Latin America and is expected to become a key regional production hub.

“We are excited to work with Pampa Energía, Argentina’s leading energy company, SACDE and Tecnimont and support them in their quest for enhancing regional food security,” said Jay Ibrahim, President, KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions. “KBR’s proven and scalable ammonia process technologies are a preferred choice amongst customers worldwide. They enable plants to operate with optimum energy-efficiency while delivering maximum yield.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
