Business analyst George Okoroma has partnered with the Scottish Africa Business Association (SABA) to coordinate a senior West African energy delegation to Aberdeen this September, creating new opportunities for collaboration between African energy companies and Scotland’s energy sector.

The four-day programme, running from September 1 to 4, 2026, will coincide with the Energy Exports Conference on September 2 and 3.

The initiative aims to provide delegates with direct access to Scottish expertise across oil and gas, renewables and energy transition technologies through private meetings, industry roundtables, site visits and networking opportunities.

The partnership combines SABA’s extensive Scottish and African business network with Okoroma’s professional relationships across West African energy and engineering institutions.

Delegates will take part in pre-arranged meetings with Scottish companies, visits to facilities including Aberdeen Harbour, and a private VIP dinner with senior industry representatives.

Okoroma, who is based in Aberdeenshire and serves as Senior Business Design and Analysis Lead at NatWest Group, brings experience spanning engineering, financial services and technology transformation. He also collaborates with FIDIC Africa, supporting the consulting engineering sector across African countries.

The initiative comes as West Africa’s energy sector undergoes major transformation, with governments and companies seeking to expand energy access, maximise existing resources and accelerate low-carbon development.

Scotland’s capabilities in offshore energy, subsea engineering, asset management, offshore wind, hydrogen and carbon capture are expected to offer valuable opportunities for cooperation.

The delegation programme includes two days at the Energy Exports Conference, targeted business meetings, site visits, sector-focused roundtables and tailored support for participants.

Discussions will cover oil and gas optimisation, well intervention, renewable energy, hydrogen, offshore wind, investment models and future energy systems.

Organisers said the delegation will remain deliberately small to ensure a focused and personalised experience, with places allocated to maintain the right seniority and sector representation.

Beyond the September visit, Okoroma will continue supporting West African energy companies seeking representation and business development opportunities in Aberdeen and Scotland, helping strengthen long-term commercial links between the two markets. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
