Saudi Energy has signed three strategic agreements aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure for data and artificial intelligence (AI) centres in Saudi Arabia and meeting their growing energy requirements.
The agreements were signed during Saudi Energy’s
participation as a strategic sponsor at LEAP 2026 and are designed to support
reliable and resilient infrastructure capable of keeping pace with the
Kingdom’s expanding digital economy and advanced technology sector.
Under the first agreement, National Grid SA and HUMAIN will
cooperate on providing electricity to an AI data centre project in Riyadh.
The agreement covers the project’s electrical infrastructure
and is intended to accommodate its future energy needs as operations expand.
Saudi Electricity Project Development Company (PDC), a Saudi
Energy subsidiary, signed a framework agreement with center3 to establish a
strategic partnership covering future data centre and energy infrastructure
projects in the Kingdom.
The partnership aims to support the expansion of the data
centre sector and strengthen integration between digital and energy
infrastructure.
PDC also signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei to
enhance cooperation on data and AI centre projects, digital infrastructure and
related energy solutions.
The agreement includes the exchange of engineering and
technical expertise and the exploration of future areas of collaboration.
Saudi Energy said the three agreements reflect its efforts
to anticipate the Kingdom’s future energy requirements as demand from data and
AI centres accelerates.
The partnerships are expected to support the development and
expansion of related projects and investments while strengthening the
infrastructure needed for Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation.
By linking energy capabilities with digital infrastructure
development, the agreements aim to create a stronger foundation for high-impact
technology investments and help the Kingdom sustain its rapid growth in AI,
data centres and other advanced digital technologies. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
