SLB and Shearwater GeoServices have launched the Amapá 3D multi-client seismic survey offshore northern Brazil’s Equatorial Margin.
The project will expand high-quality seismic coverage in the underexplored basin and support exploration and prospect evaluation.
Located about 130 kilometres from the Morpho exploratory well, where a recent hydrocarbon discovery was announced, the survey will acquire high-density broadband data using Shearwater’s Isometrix technology aboard the Amazon Warrior.
SLB will process and image the data using advanced techniques, including elastic full-waveform inversion.
The resulting dataset is expected to strengthen regional subsurface understanding and support future exploration and licensing opportunities across Brazil’s Equatorial Margin.
