Vallourec and Aramco have signed an agreement to strengthen their commercial, industrial and technological cooperation, reinforcing a business relationship that dates back nearly 65 years.
The agreement was signed during the French-Saudi Investment
Roundtable Meeting in Paris.
The companies first partnered in 1962, when Vallourec began
supplying VAM connections for Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) pipes.
Vallourec has since expanded its presence in Saudi Arabia,
establishing Vallourec Saudi Arabia (VSA) in 2011 and opening an industrial
facility in Dammam for local pipe heat treatment and premium VAM connection
threading.
In 2022, the companies signed a long-term agreement for the
supply of locally manufactured premium OCTG pipes.
Vallourec was also recognised in 2023 under Aramco’s Local
Manufacturers Quality Excellence Awards for “Best Improved Quality
Performance.”
The company continues to invest in Saudi Arabia through
research and development projects and efforts to expand local production,
including products supporting new developments and unconventional resources.
Philippe Guillemot, Chairman of the Board of Directors and
Chief Executive Officer of Vallourec, said: “This agreement is a testament to
the strong relationship Vallourec has built with Aramco since 1962. It reflects
the mutual trust between our two leading industrial groups and further
strengthens our ties. Vallourec is now an important player in Saudi Arabia,
with a strong local industrial presence that enables us to best serve Aramco
and ensure the security of supply to the Kingdom, despite current logistical
constraints.”-OGN/TradeArabia News Service
