AMPO has inaugurated AMPO KAZAKHSTAN, its new valve manufacturing and servicing facility in Atyrau, marking a further step in the Spanish industrial group’s international expansion and strengthening its presence in one of the world’s key energy markets.

The opening ceremony was attended by Spain’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Luis Francisco Martínez-Montes; Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region Muriyev Marat Bissengaliuly; IMBC General Director Dastan Abishev; and representatives of major operators, industrial companies, institutions, customers and partners from Kazakhstan and the wider Caspian region.

Located in Atyrau, the facility will manufacture and supply highly engineered ball, gate, globe, check, hypercentric ball and dilating disk control valves, alongside technical support services provided by dedicated field engineers.

AMPO KAZAKHSTAN occupies a workshop of approximately 2,600 square metres, equipped with machining, assembly and testing capabilities for local valve and spare-parts manufacturing and repairs.

The site also includes a Training Center focused on developing local technical expertise.

The facility has been designed to progressively increase production capacity and meet a wider range of customer requirements locally.

The inauguration included a corporate presentation and guided tour of the plant’s equipment and capabilities.

AMPO Group Chairman Iban Ferreira said the investment represents a long-term commitment to the country and the Caspian region.

“Opening this facility is not simply about opening a new building. It is about starting a new chapter in our relationship with Kazakhstan and with our valued customers and partners across the Caspian region,” he said.

Ferreira added: “Kazakhstan is a strategic energy market and plays an increasingly important role in the global energy landscape. For AMPO, being present here is an important step in our international development and, above all, a long-term commitment to our customers.”

He also thanked the Spanish ambassador, noting that his attendance “reflects the importance of strengthening the ties between Spain and Kazakhstan”.

Massimo Bindini, General Manager of AMPO KAZAKHSTAN, said the new facility would improve customer support while developing local capabilities. “Being here, close to our customers, allows us to better understand their needs and respond with greater agility. We are bringing AMPO’s international experience to Kazakhstan while, at the same time, building strong local capabilities,” he said.

Bindini added: “For us, this project is not only about manufacturing and servicing valves locally. It is also about transferring knowledge, developing our team and creating the technical capabilities needed to support our customers in the long term. We are committed to growing together with Kazakhstan and contributing our experience and technology to the development of the local energy industry.”

AMPO said the facility will focus on critical valve maintenance and technical services for major projects, including commissioning support, equipment selection, engineered solutions, preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and training. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
