US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani signed a memorandum of understanding on critical minerals in New York.

The agreement establishes a joint working group to promote cooperation on mineral recycling and recovery, while strengthening supply-chain resilience.

Following their meeting on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly, the officials also discussed expanding bilateral economic ties, diversifying supply chains and protecting strategic industries from what Washington described as adversarial acquisitions.

The agreement will support information and expertise sharing, as well as investment in critical-mineral mining, processing and recycling. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
