TWMA, an expert in drilling waste management, has secured a multi-million-dollar contract with a North Sea operator to provide offshore drilling waste management services for an upcoming drilling campaign in the UK North Sea.
Awarded under an existing agreement, the project will deploy
TWMA’s RotoMill technology and associated equipment, with mobilisation
scheduled for Q3 2026 and operations expected to begin in Q4 2026 across a
multi-well campaign.
The contract strengthens TWMA’s North Sea portfolio,
building on more than two decades of activity in the region.
The project will be delivered by the company’s
Aberdeen-based team, with TWMA set to process approximately 2,000 metric tonnes
of drill cuttings per well.
By treating drilling waste offshore at source rather than
transporting it to shore, the RotoMill system can reduce vessel movements and
associated emissions by up to 50 per cent compared with onshore processing.
TWMA said the approach is expected to deliver significant
safety and environmental benefits, including a substantial reduction in
associated CO2e emissions.
John Robertson, UK General Manager at TWMA, said: “We’ve
been working in the North Sea for more than two decades and securing new work
like this is a strong endorsement of our UK business and our team in Aberdeen.
It reflects the confidence operators continue to place in our technology, our
people and our ability to deliver safely and efficiently in challenging
offshore environments.”
Halle Aslaksen, CEO of TWMA, added: "The UK Continental
Shelf remains an important strategic market for TWMA where we have been
delivering drilling waste management solutions for more than two decades. This
contract reinforces our long-term commitment to operators in the region,
helping them manage their drilling waste more safely, efficiently and
sustainably.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
