Moxa, an industrial communications and networking provider, has secured prequalification from Saudi Energy, comprising Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and National Grid (NG), for three product categories: ruggedised industrial Ethernet switches, industrial next-generation firewalls and industrial computers.
The products have been
added to Saudi Energy’s List of Technically Acceptable Manufacturers (LOTAM),
enabling Moxa to supply integrated networking and computing solutions for
critical energy infrastructure, including substation automation (SA) and advanced
metering infrastructure (AMI).
The approval also
supports the modernisation of legacy substations, drawing on Moxa’s experience
in upgrading utility infrastructure internationally.
The prequalification
followed a rigorous assessment process involving third-party laboratory testing
in the presence of Saudi Energy representatives, a factory visit and
proof-of-concept testing across various applications.
The approval is
expected to strengthen Moxa’s opportunities to expand its presence in Saudi
Arabia and the wider Middle East, where electricity infrastructure investment
is increasing alongside the development of AI data centres and large-scale
giga-projects.
Moxa said it remains
committed to supporting regional utilities with reliable, secure and rugged
industrial networking solutions, building on its experience working with power
companies worldwide. -TradeArabia News Service
