Thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) manufacturer Strohm has secured a medium-sized contract to supply four carbon fibre PA12 TCP jumpers for an ultra-deepwater field in Southeast Asia.
Each 6.9-inch
internal diameter jumper will measure approximately 1,000 metres and operate at
water depths exceeding 2,200 metres.
McDermott’s Subsea
and Floating Facilities business line will procure and install the jumpers on
behalf of a major international operator, using a vertical lay system.
Strohm said TCP’s
lightweight, spoolable design and long-length delivery enable installation
using established methods, existing equipment and light or medium offshore
construction vessels.
Fabienne Ellington, Strohm’s
Vice President for Middle East & Asia-Pacific, said: "Our TCP is
already in use around the world, with an established and growing track record
in deepwater developments. This award strengthens our presence in Southeast
Asia and positions us to support the next phase of deepwater energy development
in this growing market.”
Ellington added: “We are also pleased to continue
our longstanding collaboration with McDermott, whose extensive installation
experience with our pipe systems has delivered results across offshore
developments worldwide.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
