Vulcan Completion Products will showcase its latest casing and completion technologies at ADIPEC 2026, introducing tools designed to improve casing installation in challenging well conditions and enhance performance in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) applications.
The new line-up includes hydraulically powered reaming
technology, an auto-reaming sub and an upgraded wet shoe system for HPHT
fracturing operations.
Vulcan will also display its PROBE: BORG pilot guide shoe,
launched in 2025, which has completed more than 40 successful runs across
Europe and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Mark Dundee, Vice-President at Vulcan, said: “Our new tools
are designed to help operators get casing to total depth first time, reduce
lost rig time and give drilling teams more control downhole. ADIPEC is the
right stage to show them, and we want customers to see the technology
first-hand.”
The latest portfolio features PROBE: REVOLVER, a
hydraulically powered reamer shoe that reams and conditions the wellbore during
circulation without requiring surface rotation.
Available in sizes ranging from 4½ inches to 16 inches, the
tool is designed for difficult open-hole conditions, including collapsed
formations.
Its cutting structures incorporate polycrystalline diamond
compact (PDC) and tungsten carbide inserts (TCI), with increased torque and
rotational speed delivered directly to the cutting elements.
Another addition, PROBE: A.R.S. (Auto Reaming Sub), is
designed to navigate obstacles such as ledges, doglegs, bridges and cuttings
beds.
By eliminating the need for surface rotation and limiting
torque transfer into the string, the technology aims to reduce operational
risks, rig time and stress on casing connections.
Following cementing, the sub can be drilled out using a PDC
bit, eliminating the need for a separate cleanout trip.
Vulcan's upgraded PROBE: MAGMA-SEAL targets HPHT fracturing
applications. The engineered wet shoe system can remove the need for toe
sleeves or tubing-conveyed perforating in certain well designs, simplifying
completion operations.
The upgrade has been tested to American Petroleum Institute
(API) 10F standards at 15 barrels per minute and 18,000 psi back pressure.
Vulcan also offers options for hot-well applications through
its VULCAN-O geothermal range.
Meanwhile, the PROBE: BORG pilot guide shoe has recorded
more than 40 successful deployments across Europe and MENA since its 2025
launch.
In one case, an operator adopted the tool following repeated
problems with cast aluminium-nose shoes from other manufacturers.
The shoe was drilled out in approximately 15 minutes, while
the time from tagging the top of cement to achieving a cleaned rathole totalled
five hours, setting a new record for the operator.
Vulcan said its regional presence supports customer access
and service delivery.
The company operates from Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone, with
a dedicated sales manager in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Headquartered in Westhill, near Aberdeen, UK, it also has
offices in Baku and Kuala Lumpur, while its Houston operation serves the
Americas, supported by regional agents.
Ian Kirk, Vulcan founder and Managing Director, said: “From day one, we wanted Vulcan to sit close to the people who use our tools. Having our own engineers, stock and manufacturing capability allows us to respond quickly to the needs of clients." -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
