The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY) has completed the construction and delivery of two self-propelled bunker vessels to Bapco Refining, a subsidiary of Bapco Energies, at an official ceremony attended by government officials and senior executives from both companies.
The ceremony was
attended by representatives from Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and
Telecommunications and other stakeholders.
Sayed Mahmood Al Matooq,
EVP Technical Services and Engineering at Bapco Refining, and Dr Ahmed Al Abri,
ASRY Chief Executive Officer, signed the Protocol of Delivery.
The event also
featured a video presentation documenting the project’s key milestones,
followed by a visit to one of the vessels to review its capabilities and
operational systems.
The project covered
the full vessel development process, from design, engineering and construction
to launching, outfitting, commissioning, technical testing and performance trials.
Training was also completed to ensure operational readiness before the official
handover.
Al Abri said: “The
final delivery of the two vessels marks an important milestone in the journey
of this project and demonstrates ASRY’s capability to execute and manage
integrated marine construction projects across their various stages, through to
operational readiness and final delivery in accordance with the approved
technical and operational requirements.”
He added: “We are
proud of the efforts made by our teams throughout the implementation of the
project, as well as the level of cooperation and coordination with Bapco
Refining and all participating parties, which contributed to the successful
