The British Safety Council has laun-ched the world's first Certificate designed for professionals based outside the UK.
The International Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (ICertOSH) has been developed in partnership with industry, and incorporates the latest safety management techniques.
The course meets the academic requirements for entry to IOSH Membership at Technical Level (TechIOSH) and Associate IIRSM Mem-bership.
The courses comprise of two units, a total of 10 days training. The primary focus is on core aspects of workplace safety, including Risk Assessment, Emergency Planning and Substance Safety.
These issues affect all employees, and the course is available to Managers and Supervisors from all disciplines - not just those employed in Safety.
Delegates learn practical, cost-effective systems that can be easily implemented. Research proves that most accidents are the result of human error - therefore the adoption of best practice can have enormous benefits to staff, protect valuable equipment, as well as the company's reputation.
The assessment system is unique within the HSE field. For the first time, delegates can take examinations on-line 365 days a year. Results are provided within four weeks, reducing the total training and assessment duration by up to six months.
The Certificate is joined by a new advanced qualification for HSE Managers. The Interna-tional Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (IDipOSH) is offered to full-time HSE Professionals, and follows an in-depth course incorporating advanced safety management, occupational health, risk management and safety culture. Successful candidates benefit from GradIOSH and MIIRSM accreditation.
Environmental issues have emerged as the biggest challenge faced by the international oil and gas industry.
With both local and international laws affecting companies, it's vital to comply and avoid the costs of non-compliance - fines, clean-up costs and international publicity.
The BSC offers an International Diploma in Environmental Management for all companies that wish to achieve best practice in this field.
Over four modules, delegates learn how to turn environmental issues to their advantage.
Better management of energy, water and transport have a massive impact on the bottom line, and international accreditation can open up new markets.
BSC has delivered accredited training to the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. Their client list includes Adnoc, BP, RasGas, Sabic, Halliburton and Baker Hughes. These and other companies gain real business benefit from training their safety teams to the highest international standard.
