For offshore applications Alstom supplies pipe-in-pipe systems for shallow water purposes in all dimensions up to 48".

Flowlines, pipelines and bundles are developed according to the specific project in a close co-operation with customers.

Pipe-in-pipe systems are made of a specified steel pipe (usually seamless steel), a PUR-insulation and a sleeve pipe made of PE, steel or other material according to customer specification.

All three components are bonded together in a sandwich construction.

Alstom's research and development possesses a knowledge of all aspects of pipe insulation, and offer a heat loss calculation for specific projects.

Alstom Power FlowSystems have been active in the UAE for 20 years and the company has installed cooling networks in places such as the new Internet City in Dubai amongst others.

In 2002, FlowSystems installed oil pipelines for the Mina Zayed tank farm in Abu Dhabi for transportation of Cst 380 and cst 180 fuel oil.
