Al Zamih started off its life as a construction group.

The Trading division of Al Zamih was established in 1985 at Al-Khobar to give adequate support to the company's construction division.

After sourcing out a wide range of quality products, Al Zamih started catering to the requirements of the oil and gas industry in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE.

The firm prides itself on its quality, competitive prices and quickness of delivery time, making it one of the leading names in the field of industrial supply.

Al Zamih's range of supply includes electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment and spares.

Having started off its life as a construction group that primarily served the construction and maintenance needs of Saudi Aramco, Sabic and the Royal Commission, Al Zamih soon extended its reach to give support to other fields.

Today, some of the trading partners that Al Zamih does business with include Hannay Reels Inc and Tylok International of the US and LBH International A/S from Denmark.

These are, however, merely a sample of the company's trading portfolio.

LBH deals in expansion joints, Paharpur sells cooling towers and air cooled heat exchanges, Weishaupt provides oil and gas burners, while Hanny Reels provides it with reels.

Each trading partner is a leader in its chosen field, says Al Zamih.

Hanny, for instance, has a range of 2,700 reels that serve in making workplaces safer and more productive while protecting hose and cable from damage.

Tylok International furnish Al Zamih with tube fittings, having introduced the first flareless fitting in the mid 1940's.

Tylok tube fittings provide positive sealing, minimise shock, vibration, surge and temperature and will hold beyond the yield point of tubing in most applications.

Danish-based LBH, meanwhile, was established in 1985 as a company specialising in the design, manufacture and application of high quality expansion joints and related products.

It lays claim to being the world's first manufacturer of fabric expansion joints to be awarded the ISO 9001 approval for environmental management systems.

Paharpur has a complete range of cooling towers, covering a very wide range of capacities and types ranging from crossflow to counterflow, splash fill and film fill among others.

Amongst the newest of Al Zamih's offerings are RAE Systems' wide array of technologically advanced single and multiple sensor atmospheric monitors, photoionization detectors, gas detection tubes, and sampling pumps.

The trading partnership with the Californian Silicon Valley-based RAE Systems has proved to be a profitable one as RAE Systems is a progressive, high-tech company with manufacturing and distribution networks spanning the entire globe.

Its proprietary, patent protected technology has made it the world's leading manufacturer of portable photoionization detector equipped instruments, it claims.

RAE's products are used in weapons-of-mass destruction and investigation, for environmental purposes, safety, indoor air quality, petrochemicals, semiconductors, and confined space entry monitoring programs all over the world.

The company's monitors are used in civilian and government atmospheric monitoring programs in over 50 countries - its products are used in all major United States manufacturing industries, as well as by numerous city, state and federal agencies and departments.

A substantial number of municipal agencies and city departments have standardized their programs on RAE Systems' products for confined space and HAZMAT incident response.

RAE Systems also supplies gas detectors used for jet fuel vapour monitoring programs.

Commercial aviation customers with sizable numbers of RAE Systems' instruments include American Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.

Other customers include blue chips and well known names such as General Motors, Exxon, IBM, Mobil, Dow, Texaco, DuPont, Chevron, Hewlett-Packard, British Petroleum, Amoco, Motorola, Boeing, Honda Maersk and Intel, amongst others.
