$6 million has been invested in new equipment to enhance current facilities.

Arabian Pipes has chosen to venture into the pipe coating industry.

With the introduction of a new pipe coating plant in its Riyadh based tube mill, Arabian Pipes believes that it is set to capture a larger share of the market.

The plant is capable of coating 6 5/8 inch to 48 inch pipes with fibre bonded epoxy (FBE), three layer polypropylene (8 LP P), and three layer polyethylene 3 LP E, is set up to comply with the same standards as the company's tube mill.

With its significant coating capacity, the plant is able to handle a myriad of projects.

With this vertical integration comes more competitive pricing and in the end greater customer satisfaction.

The sophisticated coating plant, purchased from Yadong coating group, necessitates a certain expertise in running and managing such a facility.

Yadang coating group is a multinational corporation with cutting edge technology and expertise in pipeline coating and associated services whose managerial and senior technical staff have over 20 years experience in pipe coating, claims the company.

Founded in 1995, it has eight plants to date, designed to handle and coat pipes of different sizes ranging from six to 56 inches with a multitude of bath internal and external coatings.

Meanwhile, after six years of growth, Riyadh-based Arabian Pipes has completed the latest stage of its evolution with a $6 million investment in new equipment to replace and enhance current facilities.

Its aim is to streamline manufacturing processes while improving product quality.

The Riyadh mill has an annual capacity to manufacture 184,000 tonnes of ERW pipe from 6" to 20" in diameter, and became the first ERW producer to be qualified and approved to recently-updated Saudi Aramco standards.

Earlier this year, through its local agent in the UAE, the company won a contract to supply about 46 km of carbon steel pipes with various diameters to Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Pre-insulated Pipe Factory (EPPI).
