Fallon ... fully understanding clients’ equipment needs is crucial

In recent years, the company has driven a growth initiative in its business by adding a suite of O&G-centric equipment to its rental fleets, including its more recent focus on the provision of energy efficient and renewable solutions

Byrne Equipment Rental, the largest equipment rental and lease organisation in the region, is the most diverse supplier of rental equipment across the GCC. The company has been exhibiting at Adipec for the last 10 years and this year they will be showcasing a variety of equipment, including its range of DNV 2.7-1 Cargo Containers, LMF compressors, Hoist and Access fleet from its trusted supply partners, Genie and Power Towers and modular buildings from its sister company Spacemaker, with a focus on RigSpace. RigSpace is the company’s range of robust, skid mounted units, suitable for use in the Oil and Gas industry, says Pat Fallon, Group COO, Byrne Equipment Rental.

"We have recently expanded our product offering; in March we added to our Aerial Access fleet with the purchase of more than 300 machines. Furthermore, we added a completely new product range to complement our existing fleet – Climate Control. This range contains a wide variety of equipment including split and package air conditioning units, chillers, air-handlers, cooling towers, dehumidifiers, heaters and ventilation equipment. The decision to add this product range was on the back of a demand from our existing clients and serves a multitude of sectors, including Oil & Gas," he says.

Overall, Byrne’s strategy has changed to meet the more exacting demands of the wider industry covering the upstream, mid-stream and downstream sectors. In recent years the company has driven a growth initiative in its business by adding a suite of O&G-centric equipment to its rental fleets, including its more recent focus on the provision of energy efficient and renewable solutions.

"Our objective is to fully understand our client’s equipment needs and to respond to these by developing viable rental and lease solutions," he maintains.

"We are always listening to our clients and growing our business in line with their wants and needs. Our recent launch of our new product range Climate Control is an example of this. We will continue to operate in this way and we intend to expand our product offering even further in the near future; we are always working towards our mission of being a ‘single source’ solution provider and leader in the market place," says Fallon.

Byrne believes that the Oil & Gas industry is not fully served by the equipment rental and lease sector mainly due to the shortage of rental companies that can meet the equipment and service level expectations of the industry and this is a gap that Byrne is more than ready to fill.

Taking this into consideration the company remains positive for the year ahead and is looking forward to what it will bring.

On Adipec, Fallon says it is the world meeting point for Oil and Gas professionals, so having a presence there is crucial for the company.

"We have attended for the last 10 years and the success we have had there has only encouraged us to continue exhibiting year after year. The event provides us with great brand exposure, networking and sales opportunities and gives us an insight into the latest updates and trends in the Oil & Gas industry."

Byrne has nothing but positive things to say about the event – it always has a great turnout and Byrne has always had a positive response to its stand. "Our business development teams have had great success at the event in the past, establishing new partnerships and have even been able to close sizeable contracts."

Referring to business, he says 2019 has been one of more positive performance compared to 2018 when markets suffered a noticeable slowing, and this looks set to continue at least for the remainder of the year.

The UAE market has improved significantly in terms of business volumes and activity particularly in the Oil & Gas sector. While this is positive news for many, competition remains strong and payments remain slow in most sectors. In addition, there remains significant downward pressure on pricing so, careful management of costs and cash has become critical for most businesses.

Byrne has a team of more than 1,500 people with 20 operational bases across the Middles East - in UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. It has a fleet of over 14,000 items of equipment and this will continue to grow in line with market demand.

The company is exhibiting at Hall 11 Stand No. 11430 at Adipec.
