Background

AD Ports and ACT will be developing a greenfield liquid storage facility located in Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi that will handle liquid bulk products, including vegetable oils and oleochemicals, bitumen, liquid gases, petrochemical downstream products, hydrocarbons, and fuels, as well as non-liquid gases, specialty and niche chemicals. Upon completion, the project will commence into Phase 2 for the expansion of the facility.


Project Status

As of March 2022, AMISTAD has confirmed that the construction activities are progressing at 40 per cent, with piling works already completed. The MAC award is expected to be awarded by the middle or end of March 2022.


Project Scope

The project's scope of work will include the construction of 40 mild steel, stainless steel, temperature-controlled storage tanks sized 1,250 and 3,000 tonnes on a plot of 50,000 sq m; dredging works; 225-m-long, 80K DWT, and 16-m-deep marine berths; and drumming and breakbulk distribution warehouse.

ACT is the project client. It will build, own, and operate the new facility.
