PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Budour NE Birba Integrated Project (BBIP) is an integrated oil and gas project owned by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in the Birba area within Block 6 concession in southern Oman.

It involves developing new facilities to process sour gas from the Budour field.

The project will maintain and increase Oman’s oil and gas production capacity.

PROJECT SCOPE

The scope of work includes the installation of a new separator train at the Birba gas station to perform three-stage separation, along with a new gas dehydration unit and multiple compression systems, including two gas injection compressors, a gas recovery compressor, and a gas booster compressor.

It also covers the installation of utility systems such as electrical infrastructure, flare systems, drainage facilities, a high-pressure flare, an instrumentation air package, a nitrogen system, and a drainage vessel. Additional works include debottlenecking the AP flare header by increasing its size, modifications to the existing 33kV gas-insulated switchgear at the Birba gas station substation and the 6.6kV switchboard, as well as interfaces with the existing control room.

Civil and piping interface works will also be carried out within the Birba gas station facility.
